Danish Butter Cookies - New Recipe is a No-Go in this family. :(

My whole family loves ChocZero company and products. At this past Thanksgiving everyone went crazy over the "old-fashioned" tin of Danish Butter Cookies! The tin of cookies brought back so many good holiday memories for everyone and no one felt guilty indulging in the delicious cookies. My mother-in-law has a very limited diet and could eat them with abandon. She was so happy. I bought her a box for this Mother's Day. Unfortunately, this newer recipe was not greeted with as much enthusiasm. My mother-in-law was so disappointed- and so were we! We all miss the buttery flavor, softness and faux sugar crystals of the previous version.
ChocZero, boy do I know how hard it is to please everyone, but this one was a hard one to swallow. Not the worst thing we have ever tasted, but certainly not the wonderful tin of cookies the family gathered around and went crazy over. Unfortunately, we will not be buying these again. Luckily, we love so many of your other products we are not going anywhere, but will pass on these cookies. Cheers to those that like the new version!

We apologize for the disappointment. We're such a long way from initially launch of our cookies and we believe we've built a cookie in this version that finally matches our chocolate's quality. We're so sorry to hear that you and your mother-in-law do not agree. Unfortunately, coconut flour version had very polarizing feedback - folks either loved it or hated it, so we decided to change the recipe per customer feedback. I'd also like to clarify that previous version did not have faux sugar crystals, as we do not use sugar alcohols in our products and they would be necessary. We appreciate your honest feedback. I appreciate the commitment Rhea and all of the Choc Zero staff take to perfect their products for my enjoyment. These butter cookies are now crisp and as always delicious. I like having several light cookies with my tea to satisfie my craving. I save the chocolate and other yummy Dunkies cookies for after dinner.

Better than expected

The cookies are crisp and taste above average. They have a taste I can't identify, it's not buttery, maybe an artificial flavor or extract like flavor? Would I buy these again, yes.

Do the trick

I love these. I allow myself 2 a day, and it isn’t easy to stop at that. They satisfy my craving for ‘pastry-like’ treat. I like that they aren’t overly sweet. I also prefer the box to the tin. Good groceries!
