There IS a difference

This year's batch is not the same as last year's batch. The caramel is salty in a slightly bitter way. I have been gaslighting myself because I bought so much of these last winter and waited all year for them to come back, and bought a LOT as soon as they were released this year, only to be a sadly surprised that what had been my favorite last year was not like I remembered it. I didn't even remember there being anything but peanuts last year, but apparently there was caramel last year in the description, I checked an old version of their site to be sure. That was after I reached out to them and they assured me in writing that the recipe had not changed this year vs last year. But I was so sure there was not this strident biting oddness to the Nutcracker last year. Last year was really balanced, so much so that the caramel didn't stand out in my memory. I came to read reviews to see if anyone else had this experience (am I crazy??) and a response to another review said last year they used candy with caramel flavoring but this year they used their own caramel. Okay! I feel SO much better that I am not imagining things!! I just don't like this caramel very much in this context. I'm eating it, it won't go to waste, but I'm a little disappointed every time, and this won't be a flavor I order again. Which I'm sad about. If you really like their caramel crunch then this is probably great for you, like that but with the peanuts for a different texture. The texture is wonderful! But if you don't like their caramel crunch then this is not for you (I already didn't prefer that one either as it turns out, and it sounds like this is the same caramel).

The Nutcracker Bark did always contain caramel however this year we wanted to use our own instead of the natural caramel flavoring from last year. We sincerely apologize if this changed the flavor for you and made it less enjoyable. We really felt it was an improvement but it just goes to show how everyone's taste buds can vary. We're glad to hear you are still able to eat the bark but apologize again the change didn't improve the flavor as we had hoped. Thank you

Aside from the mint, these were my favorites from 2023 . Glad I wasn't alone so they could return for 2024. Made sure I ordered plenty this year.

LOVE IT!

I just received a bunch of ChocZero items (catching up on a lot new releases) and everything is awesome as usual with Choczero, but none moreso than this Nutcracker chocolate! This stuff is AMAZING! The salt is really what makes it pop, Salt accentuates sweet and vice versa and this plays off that juxtaposition so perfectly. I hope they offer this year round as this is seriously about as flawless as it gets. The textures and flavors are dialed in perfectly! It's like Mr Goodbar yet somehow even better, something I didn't even know was humanly possible?! Another homerun!

It's what I wish the caramel crunch was. I love the caramel crunch, don't get me wrong, but I love that there aren't as many of the crunchy caramel bits that get stuck in my teeth. It's really tasty.

Good but Changed

I couldn’t wait for these to come back after trying them last holiday. So sad. They are still good but they have definitely changed. Last year they were toffee and had more of that and this year it’s caramel. I know it’s says the recipe is the same but the ingredients aren’t so not sure how that can be. Again, they are good just not as good as last year.

Hi Lisa- I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy them this year. We wanted to use our own caramel in the bark this year-- the same caramel we use in our Rhea bars and to make chewy caramels! Last year they were candy pieces with natural caramel flavoring. Most folks can't tell the difference or they prefer our caramel, but everyone has different taste buds. I am sorry that these disappointed you. I looked you up and sent you a gift card so you can get something else yummy on the site.
